She also received her Masters Degree in Education from Georgia Southern College and was a member of the Effingham Retired Educators Association where she served as president for 4 years. Beverly was kind and gentle but honest when speaking her mind. She was a prayer warrior and faithful member of Powers Baptist Church from the age of 6. She has served in many capacities at Powers including teaching Sunday School and leading the WMU. During Covid she also began watching 3 other church services weekly on her iPad.

Marjorie Lou Hubbard, 93, of Covington LA passed away on December 7th , 2022. She was born in Walla Walla, Washington and was the only child of John Green and Ruth Southerland Langdon. Marjorie was a resident of Avanti Senior Living in Covington, LA at the time of her death. Prior to moving to Covington in 2014, she was a long-time resident of Myrtle Beach, SC. Marjorie was devoted to raising her six children and loving her many pets.

She was very proud of her family including her children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. Beverly loved the outdoors and actively sought opportunities for camping with family and friends. She enjoyed NASCAR, always rooting for Bill Elliott and, of course, her son on Friday nights at Oglethorpe Speedway where many saw her at the ticket booth. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and others. In her later years, she loved watching the squirrels and birds in her yard. She received great joy when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren visited with her and she was able to read to them.
He later served for more than 20 years as a Trustee of Beverly Hospital until 2005. In 1986 he was appointed as the Lay Representative to the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers, serving from 1988 to 1996. For this work he was awarded the Chief Justice’s Award for Distinguished Service to the Judiciary in 1996.
